Excel Tutoring FAQ
Wondering how tutoring works, what we cover, or whether this is right for you? Here are the most common questions about Excel tutoring online and getting real-time Excel help.
How do Excel tutoring sessions work?
Sessions are 1-on-1, live, and built around your goals. We work together in real time using screen share so you can ask questions, practice, and apply what you learn immediately.
Do you use generic training material?
No. I don’t use canned lessons, generic decks, or one-size-fits-all worksheets. Every session is personalized based on your skill level, your real needs, and (if you want) your actual Excel files.
Where are sessions held?
All sessions are held via Google Meet. You’ll receive a link after booking. No special software is required beyond Excel (desktop or online).
What can I learn during a session?
Anything Excel-related, including:
- Formulas (XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, IF, dynamic arrays, etc.)
- PivotTables & charts
- Dashboards and reporting
- Data cleanup and automation
- Shortcuts and best practices
- School assignments or work projects
Can we work on my own spreadsheets?
Yes. Many students bring real reports, messy spreadsheets, or templates they want to improve. You’ll leave with something usable, not just theory.
What skill levels do you teach?
Beginner, intermediate, and advanced. If you’re not sure where you fall, try the free quiz on the site to get a quick baseline.
How is this different from YouTube or a course?
YouTube teaches topics. I teach your problem. Instead of hunting for the right video, you get live answers, feedback, and a plan tailored to your goals.
Do I need to prepare anything before a session?
Not required, but it helps to bring a spreadsheet you’re working on or a short list of what’s slowing you down. If you don’t have anything ready, I’ll guide the session.
Do you record sessions?
By default, sessions are not recorded. If you’d like a recording for personal reference, tell me before the session and we can discuss options.
How quickly will I see results?
Most people see progress in the first session. Common outcomes: less time on reports, better confidence with formulas, and fewer “Google rabbit holes.”
Where are you located? Do you tutor online?
I’m based in Houma, Louisiana, and I tutor students and professionals across the U.S. via Google Meet.
Is Excel with Eddie affiliated with Microsoft?
No. Excel with Eddie is an independent tutoring service and is not affiliated with Microsoft.
